Harper, 7 (Biological)
Hi, we are Samantha, Tom and Harper! Thank you for taking a minute to look at our page. We hope to show you a glimpse into our home and lives. We believe in a life filled with support, love and laughter. A life filled with family and friendship.
We have been married for 8 years. We met through a mutual friend at the Jersey Shore. Tom took one look at Samantha’s (terrible) dance moves and had to get to know her! We fell in love pretty quickly. We share the same values- we both believe in honesty, respect, humor and communication. We are truly best friends. We have stood by each other through the hardest of moments and the happiest of times.
We have a 6.5 year old daughter named Harper who is caring, silly and creative. Harper loves playing with dolls and hopes to be a chef when she grows up. She cannot wait to be a big sister. She loves to talk about how she will help us take care of her baby brother or sister, the love she will give them, and even their matching Halloween costumes.
Sam according to Tom:
Sam in an incredible person with a loving heart that is the glue to our family. She is an amazing teacher, unbelievable cook, and loves to read stories to Harper every night.
Sam has always encouraged and supported Harper and me, which has made us better people. She is a very supportive and caring individual which is why she is such an incredible teacher, wife, and mom. She brings so much joy, happiness, and laughter to our family.
Tom according to Sam:
Tom is an incredible father, husband and friend. He is always making us laugh. But he is also my biggest support and my rock.
Tom is the most loyal person I've ever met. He's intelligent, caring, and has so much love to give. Tom coaches Harper's soccer team, he helps her with homework, and is always there to make her giggle. For me, he is my best friend. He has been by my side for the past 8 years of marriage.
Our family is built on love, laughter, and communication. We love having dinner together and sharing our day’s story around the table. Every night, we read bedtime stories. We also believe a house is not a home without a dog.We have a 10 year old beagle, named Beasly and have recently added a new golden retriever pup named Hank to our family! Hank is the sweetest boy
We host Thanksgiving at our house every year. Tom's parents, Sam's parents, and Sam's Aunt Marsha, Uncle Chuckie, and cousin Andy join us. We celebrate Christmas and love decorating. We also celebrate Hanukkah, Easter and Passover. We are not incredibly religious, but believe in raising our children to be decent, honest people, who respect everyone they meet.
We love spending time at the beach, going out to dinner, watching stand-up comedy, and quiet nights at home. We believe in eating dinner as a family, talking through our problems, and always being there for our children.
We love our home. It is our favorite place to spend time together. We live in a 4 bedroom colonial house in a quiet neighborhood. We are within walking distance of a park and belong to our neighborhood pool club.
We have dinner as a family every night. Sam is a great cook. We enjoy movie nights on the couch with popcorn and playing board games around our coffee table. Sam loves reading and Tom is a sports fanatic. Every night ends with bedtime stories and our favorite songs.
We enjoy going to the beach, playing in our backyard, taking walks around our neighborhood, and watching movies as a family. Samantha loves reading and yoga. Tom enjoys watching sports, and playing soccer.
We love vacationing in Beach Haven on LBI. We rent a house a few steps from the beach. We spend hours in the ocean, go to the water slides, and eat lots of ice cream. We took a vacation to Disney World 2 years ago. Harper cannot wait to go back with her little brother or sister. We vacation in OBX with Tom's friends from college. They are like family to us. We rent a house with 14 of us!
We hope to keep the lines of communication open always. We are hoping to find a relationship that makes everyone feel comfortable, valued and supported. We are open to pictures, emails, calls, and an annual visit at the Family Options picnic.
Diversity is extremely important to our family. We are passionate about fighting for racial justice and continuing to learn about anti-racism. If our child is a different ethnic background than us, we are committed to learning and celebrating their cultures, as well as building a community that reflects their ethnicity.
