Our Story
Hi, we are Mike and Nicole, welcome to our page! We met in 2011 through mutual friends and have been inseparable ever since. We got engaged in 2013 in the living room of our apartment and married in 2014 with our closest family and friends there to celebrate. We have been together and grown in love over the past 10 years. We are very excited about our future and this journey to growing our family!
Family Life
Both of us were raised as Catholic and plan on raising our children Catholic as well. We are very family orientated and love spending time with our loved ones on holidays and weekends. We make it a point to always spend time with both sides of our family as much as possible!
After buying our first home in 2015 we welcomed our first pup, Walter into our lives. He came to us as a rescue and our hearts were forever changed! In 2019 our second pup, Hank, came to us as a rescue as well and our hearts are so full. Our little family is so excited for our future and looking forward to welcoming a child into our home. We are so lucky to have the most loving, supportive family and friends who are equally as excited for us on this journey.
Lifestyle
When we are not spending time with our friends and family, we both are passionate about our hobbies. Mike loves music! He plays in a band and teaches music lessons on the weekends at a local music studio. Mike is “do it yourself” kinda guy, when it comes to home projects and vehicle maintenance. He also loves to build and repair guitar amplifiers and restore old cars with his Dad. Nicole’s passion is photography. She has a side business where she does photoshoots for clients as well as gets out in nature to capture some natural beauty. She also loves DIY home décor projects and gardening. We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood with friendly neighbors, close to schools and hospitals.
Adoption
We would love to get to know you as the birth family. We are open to letters, sending updated pictures, phone and email contact as well as meeting at the yearly picnic. Just know that nothing is written in stone and we are keeping an open mind for any changes in the future!
Growing up in the north east, diversity has always been part of our community and daily lives. From where we attended school up until now at our places of work. We have always been in environments with people of different ethnicities, cultures and races. This includes our group of friends and extended family. It is important to us as a family to celebrate and welcome all differences in all aspects of life. Should we welcome a child into our family that is a different ethnic background other than our own, we would start by educating ourselves and immerse ourselves in their culture. As your child grows, we will teach them about their culture and background and incorporate any customs, holidays, foods etc. Some tools we could utilize would be reading books, watching movies, attending different social groups / events all that incorporate their background and culture.
