Hello! We are Amy and Marcel and we are honored that you are here viewing our profile.
We met on the eHarmony dating website and once we met in person we knew we would be together forever. We spent hours upon hours talking, our first date was 8 hours long at a diner on Thanksgiving night! We were engaged 3 weeks later and then married in July 2014.
We are a blended family. Amy became a mother as a teenager and has two older daughters, Rayne and Autumn. Marcel welcomed Amy’s daughters as his own with open arms. Although the girls were teenagers when we married it was a smooth transition becoming a family of four.
In 2016 we welcomed our daughter Adeline through the miracle of IVF (fertility treatments). In 2018 we had a surprise pregnancy and welcomed our son Josiah into our family! Tragically Josiah passed away when he was 6 months old from SIDS. Although this was devastating to us we have become a stronger couple and family because of it.
Although we are blessed to have three daughters, we do not feel like our family is complete. For this reason we would love to welcome a new child into our home through adoption.
We are a Christian family and are members of a wonderful local church who love and support us. Family is important to us, we love visiting with both of our parents and siblings. We have a ton of nieces and nephews who can’t wait to welcome a new cousin into the family.
We love the holidays and love celebrating new and old traditions. Every year we have a “kids vs. adults” gingerbread contest…the kids have won the last 4 years!
Adeline is 7-years-old and loves to draw and create things with a Sharpie and a cardboard box! Adeline takes gymnastics and swimming lessons every week. One of her favorite things to do is wrestle with Marcel. You can find them wrestling almost every night, Adeline is getting pretty good! Amy’s parents live down the street from our house and are always willing to watch Adeline if needed. Adeline loves spending time with her grandparents.
Rayne lives on her own in Maryland however visits often and can’t wait to welcome a new little one into our family. Autumn lives at home with us, she works at a group home for adults with disabilities. She loves being a big sister to Adeline and can’t wait to have another brother or sister to love.
We have two female cats named Penelope and Matilda. They are very good with children and often tolerate Adeline’s dress-up sessions!
Our family loves taking road trips and vacationing every chance we get. We love the country and the woods. We most recently have spent time in Vermont, Lancaster, PA and the Poconos. We love games! Blokus, Mexican Train, Exploding Kittens, and Throw, Throw, Burrito are some of our favorites.
Marcel makes date night a priority! Since the beginning of our marriage he makes sure we have a date night every single week. Our favorite thing to do on date night is find a different Jersey diner to try out.
We live in a pretty diverse community and are 10 minutes from the beach.
We are a pretty simple family, we are not fancy or flashy but we are authentic and honest. We love spending time in our home, and we love being together.
We would love to have a relationship with you but realize that you might not want that at first. You are in control when it comes to the amount of contact we have with each other. We are very comfortable with an open adoption and would love to stay in contact with you throughout your child’s life. If you have other children, we would love for them to know us and be involved in their brother or sister’s life.
We want your child to know who you are. We want your child to know where they came from, who they look like, where they get their personality from, and who loved them from the beginning.
We understand some mothers might be considering placing an older child and not a newborn and we would like you to know we are prepared to parent an older child. During the transition we will provide your child with love, support, and opportunities to bond with us as a family and more importantly the opportunity to continue to connect with you, their mother.
We are a diverse family; our three daughters are all biracial (Caucasian and Black) and we have nieces and nephews who are biracial and Hispanic. We would love to welcome a new ethnicity into our home and if your child is of a different race than ours we will make sure he/she knows their heritage and will celebrate it every day.
