Our Story
Hello! We are Tania and John and we are so excited you have stopped to look at our profile. We actually met in Junior High School. We became friendly and both our group of friends blended well. We stayed friends throughout High School and upon graduation discovered we were attending the same college. Tania can remember getting excited to know we would be at the same college! We spent many days commuting to college together and realized that our friendship was becoming more then just friends and fell in love! When we met each other’s families, it became apparent we both had families that were very close to each other and shared many of the same family values. We dated for 4 ½ years and John proposed in December 2000 at Rockefeller Center in front of the Christmas Tree! John was in the police academy at the time. We planned our wedding in 9 months and got married in October 2001 with all of our family and friends there to celebrate our special day.
Family Life
Love for each other, honesty, and equality are all values that our family holds dear. We will teach our children the importance of spending time with family and friends, will provide support and guidance throughout their lives, and will be there with open arms with loving and caring hearts throughout life. We are Roman Catholic and will raise our child in the Roman Catholic religion including strong moral values.
We both had the wonderful experience of growing up with pets in our homes. We believe that pets bring a special warmth to a home and teach children to appreciate animals and caring for others. We have a wonderful 3 year old English Bulldog named Rudy. Rudy is an important member of our family and loves children. On weekends, we take him to our favorite park in our town and he looks forward to meeting and greeting the children playing.
Lifestyle
On weekends we enjoy taking car rides and discovering new places. We also love to travel as a couple, with our parents, and with our best friends. John and I both have long lasting friendships with our childhood friends to this day. We frequently visit John’s parents in Pennsylvania and enjoy doing seasonal activities together like pumpkin picking, family get togethers, and going to the lake. John’s parents also come to visit us in New Jersey and we plan kid-friendly activities with his brother’s family, sister-in-law, nephew(John’s godchild), and niece(my godchild). I am fortunate to be surrounded within minutes of my family which means our home is frequently visited. Everyone knows they are always welcomed to stop by at any time.
Throughout the year, we spend time at different beaches in New Jersey...Asbury Park, Long Branch, and Cape May are some of our favorites. We also like to walk around New York City during the fall and holiday season. In the summer, we look forward to hosting our annual family barbeque.
Diversity is important to us. Our youngest cousin’s father is of Puerto Rican descent. In our family it was important to incorporate his culture into our lives. We learned different traditions that are meaningful to the Puerto Rican culture. This has been a nice addition to our lives by sharing different foods that have become a staple in our holiday celebrations.
Adoption
Your story is very important to us and to your child. He or she will know who they are and where they came from. We look forward to communicating through letters, pictures and at the annual gathering Family Options hosts.
