Hi, we are John and Suzanne. We have known each other since the sixth grade and have been married for nine years. We were each other’s first crush in seventh grade and went to our very first formal dance together in eighth grade. Then at our high school Dame’s Ball we were named King and Queen-perhaps little signs. We reunited after college at my brother’s lacrosse fundraiser and it was love at first sight all over again-you can say we are soul mates.
Our first date was a sushi lunch with a conversation that lasted over four hours. From then on we were inseparable. After a year of dating, we were engaged and then married within months. As it turned out, John’s twin brother is married to Suzanne’s childhood best friend. Isn’t that something! We remain best friends and have a mutual love, support, trust and respect for each other.
We have always dreamed of having a family and becoming parents. After many years of trying to conceive we had only experienced heartache. When we Adopted our son Max 2 years ago our lives changed forever. He is such a blessing to our family and brings us such joy. We would love to give him the gift of a sister or brother.
We were born and raised in a small town in the seashore area of New Jersey. We went to school together so we’ve known each other and each other’s families for a long time. We were both fortunate enough to be raised by loving and supportive parents.
We are both Catholic and our faith in God has gotten us through many of life’s challenges. Practicing our faith is very important to us by attending church and in everyday life. Suzanne also participates in our parish as a lector while John is very active with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
John has a twin brother who is married with three children. Suzanne has two brothers who are married and between them have five children. Our family members, including our parents, live in the neighboring town so we always have the opportunity to participate in various family functions together. Most events that we celebrate or participate in seem to be all about the children-what could be more important. Max especially enjoys playing with his cousins. He enjoys swimming, tee ball, basketball and playing with his trains.
We share many of the same interests and values. John is very much a people person and loves to socialize. He loves children and they seem to be drawn to him. He helps his twin brother in coaching his niece and nephew and can’t wait to coach Max when he’s old enough. We are both big sports fans and once a year we get to see Suzanne’s favorite team the NY Rangers at the Garden. Our other favorite teams are the NY Giants, Yankees and the Knicks.
In school John participated in soccer, baseball and basketball. In college, he was captain of his soccer and baseball teams and was later inducted into the WHS Hall of Fame for soccer. Now he gets to enjoy coaching his niece and nephew in recreational soccer, baseball and basketball. Suzanne too played soccer, track and was a cheerleader but her passion was in dance. Suzanne danced for many years in the Nutcracker and many other performances with various companies. She studied dance in college and went on to teach and choreograph at studios with ages ranging from pre-school through adult. Suzanne is also a certified group training instructor and enjoyed teaching fitness classes for many years.
We live in a wonderful suburban community with great schools and recreational activities. Living by the beach allows us to enjoy biking, the boardwalk, concerts, fairs and swimming with family and friends.
Each of our families share in the same values and have been so supportive and very excited about our decision to adopt again. We hope we will be blessed with another precious child to love and to bring into our beautiful family.
We consider adoption such a privilege as well as a beautiful act of love. A love coming from both the birthparents and the adopting parents so that can only be good. We would promise you that your child will have unconditional love and a lot of family involvement. We have parents nearby who are very excited to give a helping hand as well as many other family members.
We would be open to an adoption plan that involves sharing important information through photos, emails, letters and annual visits. We think that it is important that the child grows up knowing their amazing story.
We thank you for your consideration and are hoping and praying to be blessed with another precious child.
