We met one night while we were both out socializing with friends. Not much longer after that we both realized we were completely in love with each other. We dated for another three years, building a strong relationship, becoming each other's best friend, and falling deeper in love each day. One night shortly after Christmas Jim proposed marriage and we started planning our future together.

We married in 2007. Since then we grow to be a stronger couple each day. We love working together to set and reach for our goals, celebrate our accomplishments together, solve our problems together, support and nurture each other, and laugh together. We can’t wait to parent together too.

Family is very important to us. Jim's side of the family is very large. He has many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom we see regularly. Kathryn's side of the family is very close. Her parents live only five minutes away and we see them and her brothers often. One of the reasons we have a strong desire to parent is because we want to see our family grow. Our first child will be the first grandchild on both sides of our family. Our parents are very excited to be grandparents!

We were both raised in the Roman Catholic Church and intend to raise our children in that faith as well. We hope to teach our children to have strong character, to have love, compassion, and charity for others, and to value education and the arts. We want to show our children that with faith in God, family support, and hard work they can reach all their goals, whatever they may be.

Our dog, Fred, is practically a part of the family too. He is a very friendly, medium sized dog who gets along nicely with our friends’ children.

Music is a big part of our life. As a drummer in a bagpipe band, Jim performs in many parades and shows throughout the year. He also plays the guitar for fun. We love going to see all different types of musical performances and hope to instill in our children a love of music.

We both enjoy going hiking several times a year. When our children are old enough, we plan on taking them on hikes, and eventually camping trips as well.

We live in a beautiful suburban neighborhood, a short distance outside of New York City. We have found in this town everything we want for our future family. Our town has top-rated schools, friendly neighbors, an extremely low crime rate, an active parish, and many community events and organizations. Though we live on a quiet street, parks, playgrounds, ball fields, and small shops are all within walking distance.

Adoption

We are both very excited to become parents for the first time! We are seeking to adopt a healthy Caucasian baby from birth to six months of age. We would be comfortable with multiples or premature birth. Initially, Kathryn plans on being a stay-at-home mom.

If you think we might be the right couple to parent your child we would love to meet you. To start, after the placement, we would like to send pictures and letters. When our child is old enough, we hope to have him/her take part in preparing our packages to you. Our child will know that you always have and always will love him/her. Ideally, we would like to be matched with parents who would be willing to meet in the future should our child ever express a desire to do so.

This Christmas Kathryn’s family surprised us with a bassinet that’s been in the family for many years. Kathryn, her mother, aunt, uncle, brothers and cousins all slept in it as infants. Our child will be the first in the next generation to use it and the whole family is thrilled!!
