Our Story

Hello!  We are Tara and Donny.  We believe fate brought us together. One Saturday night in 2009, we both wound up at the same restaurant on the same night, unaware that the course of our lives was about to change forever. That night, we immediately clicked. Our personalities are different, and we truly balance each other out.  We both love to laugh, keep things simple, and enjoy our lives.  Donny proposed in 2010 and we had a destination wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico. It was an awesome time! We were surrounded by family and friends and on a beach, which is our favorite place to be. We knew we wanted to start a family right away. In 2012 we welcomed our son Ryan, now six and in 2015 we were blessed to adopt our daughter Reilly, now three. We hope that we will be blessed again to expand our family through adoption.

Family Life

Family is extremely important to us and our children are always our top priority. We have lots of cousins and friends that we love to spend time with. Ryan and Reilly have special relationships with their Grammy, Grandma and Pop Pop. We are lucky to see our Uncle Tommy, Aunt Sam and cousin Danny every week.  We have two rescue dogs, Sammy (Chihuahua mix) and Sadie (Black Lab mix) that adore Ryan and Reilly. Sammy is 16 and a big cuddler, and Sadie is two and loves to play fetch. They are both very protective over our family. We were raised Catholic and are raising our children in the Catholic religion as well.  We try to keep the same traditions around the holidays each year. Our kids love the Christmas Pajama Party on Christmas Eve with friends and family. We love to carve pumpkins on Halloween, look for the Leprechaun footprints on St. Patrick’s Day, and hunt for Easter eggs on Easter. Birthday parties are always fun and exciting each year as well. The big thing we try to teach our children every day is to always choose to be kind, and to be grateful for all the special friends and family we have in our lives. We are very lucky.

We live in a single-family home in a cul-de-sac which is great for the kids to ride bikes. We live in a nice community with lots of parks, activities, and great schools. We’ve made some awesome friends in our town and there are lots of kids to play with. Donny loves to exercise and anything to do with sports. He coaches most of Ryan’s teams. Tara loves to run, garden and bake with Ryan and Reilly. We are big beach and pool people and love to BBQ with family and friends in the summer.  We have a pool and use it every day in the summer. We go on a family vacation with Grammy and a bunch of cousins every summer and get to visit Grandma and Pop Pop in Myrtle Beach too!  Ryan loves sports, especially football, so we spend a lot of time at the ball fields.  Reilly loves gymnastics and Mommy & Me classes.  Tara is a stay at home mom, so she gets to do a lot of fun things with Ryan and Reilly. There are always lots of play dates with cousins and friends. On rainy days, we love to do crafts inside or cuddle up with popcorn and a movie.

We are so excited to expand our family, love another child, and have the amazing opportunity to be parents again. The minute Reilly became a part of our family, Ryan loved her and is very protective of her. Reilly just adores Ryan and wants to be a part of whatever he is doing.  It has been incredible to watch the warm bond they’ve developed from day one. They are both so excited to have a little brother or sister to love and play with. We will definitely send letters, pictures, e-mails, and special things throughout the years. We would be open to phone calls and possible yearly visits. Of course, our top priority would be what is in the best interest of the child, you and our family. We believe it is very important that you see each special thing that your child experiences whether it is through letter updates, pictures, and school projects. You are giving us this miracle of loving and raising your baby. We know this is the most difficult and selfless decision you may ever make, and we want you to know throughout the years that you made the right choice. It is also extremely important to us that this baby will know who you are, and their history, so they will be comfortable with who they are. Every person has their own special birth story and family history.

We always describe our life as magical and going through the adoption process was an extremely emotional, yet powerful experience. We knew this was what we were meant to do. We hope you will be the angel placed in our lives, so we are blessed to experience this again.
