Hi! We are Natalee and Alex and thanks for visiting our page. We’ve been together for 5 years and married for 2 and a half. We met on Match.com messaging each other for a few weeks before our first date. By the end of the date it felt like we’d known each other for years, having spent hours talking and laughing. We’ve been inseparable ever since!
We married in the spring of 2016 surrounded by our closest friends and family. That summer we started our little family by adopting Leo a.k.a. The World’s Cutest Dog. OK, so maybe we’re biased, but he is very sweet and friendly.
We’re so excited to continue growing our family. It may be cliché to say, but we have so much love to give. And that’s what led us here! We’re looking forward to sharing our lives and hearts with a special boy or girl.
We are both close to our families. We spend a lot of our free time visiting our parents, siblings and extended families, especially on holidays and special occasions. But we also love just having dinner and catching up. Our siblings are very important in our lives. Natalee’s brother, Chris, is a policeman in New York. Alex’s older sister, Priscilla, is a successful executive with two stepchildren, and his younger sister, Cindy, is a lawyer. They all live nearby and we get together fairly often. We also visit with Natalee’s family very regularly for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Chinese New Year and family birthdays.
Alex’s parents are devoutly religious, his father is Baptist and mother is Catholic. While Alex did not inherit their faith, they did give him a strong moral center. Natalee is also not religious but we plan to teach our child about various faiths and celebrate Easter and Christmas holidays as a family.
And as we mentioned above, we adopted our dog Leo and he’s truly made us feel like a family. He’s part Chihuahua and Dachshund, and he has a lot of energy and loves to play. He’s been great with our neighbor’s baby and our friends’ kids, being very curious about these little people.
We live in a 3 bedroom apartment in New Jersey about 20 minutes away from New York City. It’s a great neighborhood of diverse families with a lot of parks and schools nearby. We even live across the street from a kids’ water park. We both work full time so weeknights are usually low key. We’ll cook dinner, talk about our day, play with Leo, and watch our favorite tv shows. Weekends are usually spent hanging out with family and friends.
Traveling is something we love to do together. We take mini-vacations when we can and usually take a big trip once a year to somewhere we’ve never been. Last year we went to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. This year we went out to San Francisco and explored so much of the city. Experiencing new places is a great way to learn about people and the world. It’s something we hope to continue in our family.
Ultimately, we want to find a level of openness that we are both comfortable with. We’d like to send pictures and email updates and can discuss how frequent. And we are open to the Family Options Picnic or another date for an annual visit.
Being a multiracial family and having a diverse group of friends is one of the things we are most grateful for. Alex’s family is mostly Ecuadorian with a mix of Puerto Rican, Caucasian, Jewish and Japanese. Natalee is Chinese and Dominican with family that’s mixed with Puerto Rican and Caucasian. Because of this we are accepting and understanding of people from different backgrounds. Whatever the background of our child, we will find ways to learn about their culture(s) together as a family.

As much as we want to parent, it’s just as important that you do what’s best for you. This is an enormous and life changing decision so you do whatever feels right. And if you do decide on adoption and consider us, know that we and our family will love and support this child with everything we have.
